About Us
The idea of Gymnastics Plus began in the fall of 2002 with a competitive gymnastics team with nowhere to practice. That team had lost their gym and their coach. Along came two gym moms with no past gymnastics experience other than having children on that team. One had a background in business, the other in recreational programming. A partnership was formed and Gymnastics Plus was born.
The team practiced in school classrooms and gyms for much of the fall of 2002, which was during their competitive season. Eventually a facility on Hayes Drive in Manhattan, KS was located and secured. Practice continued in that warehouse until equipment could be purchased and the building interior was completed.
In February of 2003, the first classes took place. With 7 coaches and 189 students our first session began.
Fast-forward to today. We are in our second location, in a building we purchased and renovated in 2005. In 2008 a tornado damaged the building and destroyed most of our equipment. While this caused us to close our doors for 4 months, it also gave us the opportunity to improve our facility with new equipment and to construct in ground pits for improved training. The pits were something we never had before.
With a current enrollment of 430 in our gymnastics instruction program, an average of 200 children at our open gyms weekly and up to 10 birthday parties each weekend, Gymnastics Plus is going strong, but always looking for new ideas to make us better. Come grow with us.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
We are excited that your child is attending classes at Gymnastics Plus. As parent/guardian, it is important that you be aware of our attendance policy.
While we realize your child may have to miss class due to an illness or another previously scheduled event, we encourage you to have your child attend as much as possible. Missed classes means your student has missed instruction on skills, thus delaying success in the class.
Refunds or credits are not issued for missed classes. Upon request, an open gym pass will be issued as a make-up for the missed class. This pass will allow your child to attend one of our open gyms at no cost. These passes expire 30 days from issue. You may request an open gym pass at the front desk after an absence. All open gym passes for missed classes must be requested by the end of the session in which the class was missed.
In lieu of an open gym pass, a make-up class may be scheduled on a day and time that there is available space. Make-up classes must be scheduled at the front desk after a missed class. We do not schedule make-up classes prior to an absence. If your child misses a scheduled make-up class, the class is forfeited. Another make-up class cannot be scheduled for the missed make-up class. Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same session as the missed class.
A combined limit of three (3) make-up classes or open gym passes are available per session.
If your child will be missing a class due to any reason, please contact our office. It is best to let us know in writing of the absence, however, we realize that this is sometimes impossible due to illness. In such cases, a phone call will be sufficient. If, however, your child has missed two consecutive classes and we have not received notice from you of the absences, our policy is to drop the student from the class as there are generally waiting lists for classes. You will be notified in writing of our action.

TUITION and PAYMENT POLICY
Payment for class is due at the time of enrollment. Payment may be paid in full or class tuition may be divided into equal payments. The first installment is due on the day of enrollment and the remaining payments are due every four weeks after class begins. A payment schedule will be provided to you if you choose this option. There is an additional payment plan fee associated with choosing the payment plan.
A full refund of tuition will be granted if enrollment is cancelled before the second class period. If you decide to drop our program, you must notify us. You will continue to be billed and will be held liable for tuition until we are notified concerning attendance in our program.
We ask that all payments be made to Gymnastics Plus in a timely manner. Statements are sent 7-10 days prior to payments being due. Any payment not received by the due date will be charged a $10 late fee. This amount will be added to your account and your child will not be permitted to attend class until tuition has been paid.
Insufficient fund payments (NSF) are forwarded to Business Account Services for recovery. We cannot accept payment on the NSF check after BAS has been assigned the account. All payments for insufficient funds checks must be made to Manhattan Check Service.
Any account that is 90 days past due with Gymnastics Plus will be forwarded to Business Account Services for collection.
If you have any questions about these or any of the policies of Gymnastics Plus, feel free to ask a staff member in the front lobby.
GYMNASTICS PLUS SAFETY RULES AND POLICIES
It is the policy of Gymnastics Plus that anyone, regardless of age, entering the gymnastics area during any activity, class, open gym session, birthday party, or special event, must be registered as a participant or parent/guardian, have the proper waiver/release form signed, and pay the appropriate fee for such participation.
Participants are defined as anyone entering the gymnastics area, regardless of age, with the intended purpose to utilize the facility and available equipment. Infants are included in this category as Gymnastics Plus must take precautions to ensure a safe environment for all. Providing a safe facility, quality supervision, and comprehensive industry insurance is mandatory regardless of a participants age. Infants, with their inability to cope for themselves add an additional liability in a gymnastics setting. As they can't be defined as a parent/guardian, they must be defined as a participant and are bound by all rules and fees associated with being a participant.
Guardians are defined as adults, whether parents, temporary or permanent guardians, or child care providers. They are allowed in the gym area as supervisors only. They are not allowed on any equipment. Guardians are permitted into the gymnastics area as part of the participants admission cost.
The following safety rules apply to all activities at Gymnastics Plus. Be Safe. Have Fun.
1. All individuals must be registered as a participant or parent/guardian before entering the gym area.
2. All participants must sign an activity waiver/release form, or if under the age of 18, have the waiver signed by a legal guardian before admittance will be permitted.
3. For insurance reasons and weight restrictions, adults, 23 years of age and older may NOT use the equipment other than the floor areas and the pits. Entering the facility with the intended purpose of utilizing the facility in any capacity other than a supervisory one makes you a participant and appropriate fees must be included.
4. Participants should not utilize any equipment until they have familiarized themselves with the safety rules of Gymnastics Plus. Safety rules are included below, on a safety video in the lobby, are posted throughout the gym, and/or are presented by a Gymnastics Plus staff member at every event. Knowing the rules is your responsibility.
5. Participants will follow all posted rules throughout the gymnastics area. Following the safety rules on each piece of gymnastics equipment is required.
6. No one is allowed in the gym area unless a Gymnastics Plus staff member is present.
7. Each piece of gymnastics equipment has a specific purpose. Use of the equipment in any manner other than its intended use could result in ejection from the facility.
8. Not all equipment in the gym is available for use at all times. See a Gymnastics Plus staff member for availability.
9. The gymnastics floor area is to be used for gymnastics and tumbling activities only. Cheer stunting of any kind is not allowed.
10. Gymnastics Plus supervisors have the ultimate decision on interpretation and enforcement of all rules and policies. Participants can be asked to leave the facility if the rules are not followed.
11. Proper spotting is essential to ensure the safety of all gymnasts. All spotters must be approved by the management of Gymnastics Plus.
12. Running can cause accidents, which lead to injuries. Please walk. Please be especially careful on the concrete floors, on the stairs, and around any piece of gymnastics equipment.
13. One person at a time on the trampoline. Parents may NOT assist younger children in bouncing.
14. The preschool bar area is for gymnasts age 7 and under only.
15. The utmost caution should be used when entering the pit area. Make sure there is no one in the area you plan to enter. Enter the pit only with your feet, seat or back, never your head or neck or in an arched position. Never tear a pit block as this causes pit dust with can lead to eye injuries. Never bury yourself in the pit, as you could be jumped on, which could result in injury.
16. Balls are not allowed in the gym.
17. No swinging on the ropes unless coordinated by a supervising Gymnastics Plus staff member.
18. Wrestling and/or fighting is not allowed at Gymnastics Plus
19. Profanity or any inappropriate language or verbal abuse is not allowed at Gymnastics Plus
